 Messi wanted to leave for free, while Barcelona want him to stay or leave by paying his release clause which is €634m($700m).
Messi believe he can leave based on his contract to leave at the end of the season for free as much as he informed the club, but the club said the contract expired on July 10 which was the date meant for the season to end b4 the pandemic.
Messi is claiming he can leave due to his contract but Barca board said that has end in July.
Messi wanted to have amicable meeting with the board about his transfer but the board members refused.
