Did you know...? Chapter 2 Progression and Forecast Did you know that progression and forecast are different but both factors are related to the rise of your players' average? Learning how to take advantage of the progression is essential for players to reach the forecast showed in graph. Trainings, age, motivation and coaches are factors that directly affect the player's total average and especially forecast. We will explain both parameters in detail to show you how they work and how you can get the best performance of your players. What is exactly the progression and how it works? Progression is a value that is generated when the player is created. It is a fixed value, I mean, it does not vary throughout the whole player’s career. This parameter indicates how fast the average of a player increases. To know the progression of our players we have two possible ways available: - Via the school. We know the progression of the player when the player is created in the school. To find it you just have to go to your school and next to the new junior there are a number of balls; if you pass the mouse cursor it will appear over a percentage that indicates the exact value of progression. - Via search + (Advanced) on the scout or the technical director. We can look for players with a minimum progression. We will not be able to know the exact value but we will get an approximate value of the real progression of the player. As mentioned above, this value indicates how fast the average of a player increases, but if we want our players to reach a good average there are other factors to consider in addition to the progression: 1. The player's age: The younger the player is the more his average will increase if all other factors are high. The age at which a player increases more is 14 years-old. 2. - The daily training: The training you schedule every day for your players influences more or less in the player depending on his position. 3. - Motivation: * Motivation is a percentage which appears on the player’s profile and indicates how well the player absorbs the training of the day. * The motivation depends on the role the player has developed in the last game played. Thus, if the player plays as starter in his exact position, he gets 100% motivation, playing as substitute he gets 75%, and playing as reserve he gets 50%. There are other factors that will influence motivation such as: winning a game, the accessories and temporary promotions. * When a youth player is temporarily promoted and plays as starter he will acquire 130% of motivation. This rate can be given only during the temporary promotion. Ideally, you should schedule the trainings more optimal for this player in senior team during the time he is temporarily promoted in order to get the best performance. * When a player is signed, he arrives to his new team with the motivation of the last game played. If the player has not ever played (school promotion) then the motivation will be 0%. The player will regain the motivation when playing a game with his new team. If he doesn’t play so he doesn't regain the motivation and therefore he doesn't train. * In addition, each level of stadium accessory "Dressing Rooms" increases the motivation 1% (maximum 5). The same applies when the player wins, the motivation increases another 5% (lose or draw is not taken into account). 4. Coach: The coach's quality also influences when achieving a good average. Note: When a youth player gets red “P” (that indicates the player is ready to be promoted to the senior team) you should promote him, otherwise the player’s progression will drop one point with every passing day in the junior team after appearing the red P. What is exactly the forecast? The forecast is a prediction of the maximum average the player can reach. The forecast is calculated as follows: 1. The system takes all the features of the player who are trainable (pass, shot, dribbling, speed, ball steal, saves, strength, technique, aggressiveness and leadership). 2. The system simulates about 10 seasons of different trainings, the most optimal for that player, that is, the best training program for the player according to his position. 3. The system takes into account the quality of your coach (junior or senior) Note: Since we consider the quality of the coach, it may happen that the forecast shown to a user is 82 and when the player is signed and the new owner makes the forecast, he can get a lower value than the initial forecast. This is because the quality of the old coach was better than the current one. Similarly if we change the coach and we hire a better one, the forecast of our players can rise. 4. Finally the system shows a final graph representing the evolution and the maximum average the player can get if the best possible conditions occur. The forecast, unlike the progression, is not fixed because it depends on the current state of the player. A player raises the most when he is between 14-18 years, so that the training he receives in that period will be essential for his average to raise correctly.
