I sometimes use mids in a forward position (in advanced formation, so they are still technically in a mid position and get full motivation). Whenever they are approaching the box, they always shoot from outside the box, even though my advance formation should move them into the box as the ball approaches the GK.

Is there a way to get them to move farther towards the goal before shooting, or is it just a characteristic of the position that they shoot from farther out?

I feel like it is a characteristic of midfielders. I do the same thing sometimes and they refuse to get to close even when one on one with the goalkeeper. 30/07/2012 05:06

There is a way to do this. It's a thing with mids players to shoot from outside the box but you can change it (or at least encourage them not to). I don't remember how, but I know it's possible. Keep experimenting with your tactic bars/settings. 30/07/2012 05:41

But I want it to be easy! Just kidding

I'll start tinkering and see what happens.
