How important is a lively league forum?
Crucial, without I would not play SM
Very important, makes it more enjoyable
So-so, it is a good thing
Indifferent

After having seen so many dead/empty league forums (everyone in div 4-6 I have ever seen) or league forums solely clutter by advertisement (including div 1 and all div 2 groups), then I became somewhat dumbfounded. Why is it so? An active league forum makes this game MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE.

Have a look at my group, div 3, group 15. It is the only(?) one that is really active. Each round, most of us do the pools (i.e predict the results of each match of the upcoming round). There are also separate threads for bickering, discussing in general, player advertisment, analyses and so forth.

Other groups should be inspired by us. I promise, it is not a bad idea.

Nice Pansa... I thought mine was going to be active but it isn't as much as yours. It's true it makes the games more interesting. 10/08/2013 14:16

It's usually dead from division 4 and down. I believe the reason is because a lot of managers in the lower divisions are comprised of bots, managers who barely know they game ( and end up leaving within two weeks) and non English speaking managers. Going up to like div3 and up, you'll start to see more activity since there are more managers who actually know the game and can communicate.

My group is rather silent, but my PL, chat, and forum make SM enjoyable.

PL is a poor substitute to an active league to me. Not only because you mostly play for glory and pocket money, but also because everything about the PL is "inofficial". Ok, cool if you have won your PL seven seasons in a row, but no one really cares outside your own PL.

On the other hand, an active league and PL community would be the very best. If you have enough time to spend on the game

I totally disagree wit u becos what I enjoy about SM is my PL. It is made up of managers I know and we play for bragging rights. I rest my players from my league games ahead of my PL games. I also think my. PL is the most competitive amd most lively in SM.

is enough to have active PL forum League members change every season, hard to create community there, for PL it's a different story. Oh the good ol' Pirate times.. 14/08/2013 01:53

it varies season to season. personally I always try and get some discussion going. you only need 3 or 4 managers to get a good div forum going. 14/08/2013 17:25
