What do you guys use and what seems to be the best? Coming from Div 6 I am only just understanding advanced formations and love to see all different kinds and see what may work best. Any help would be appreciated |

You are probably not going to get much of a response here. Most people don't freely exchange the formations they use. Its really all a matter of experimenting. I've been here for almost two years and I just totally revamped my defensive formation in an effort to make it work better. I'd recommend you watch some division 1 and 2 games to see how their formations work and try to develop yours along the same lines. Edited by @sabrefan62 15-08-2013 03:35 |

i can give you 3-4-3 that uses LF CF RF IM RM LM DFM &LDF CDF RDF or 4-3-1-2 that uses LF RF OM(instead of CF) while rest positions same as above. i also have highly defensive 5-2-3 LB RB LDF RDF CDF DFM IM LF CF RF . you can make adjustments as per your choice once you get them. all three formations are set to counter any high offside traps. pm me if you wish so. Any help would be appreciated There is no right way to make a formation or 'best' formation that works for everyone. What works for your team and your team style is the best one for you. Most managers tend to make formations based on the players they have, so you'll see a lot of nonstandard formations like with one RW and a CF or a formation with an LIM but a RM, but others like to make a preset formation and buy players to fill in those holes. If you want to see some trends, then the 3 defenders + 2 DFM (LDF/CDF/RDF/DFM/DFM) combo is popular. Some opt for 4 defenders + 1 DFM, and others go LB/RB/DFM/DFM. In attack, the LF/OM/RF is the staple for most teams. Usually on attack, teams employ at most three attackers or less as anything over three is overkill. Nowadays in the higher divisions, a lot of teams park the bus by having a deep defense crowding the area, or they use a compact midfield. It is also viable to put a high line but high OT teams are generally frowned upon. It's all a matter of how you want your team to play or making use of what you have. Experiment with different styles. Try watching some Div3/4 games of the top managers. You can watch Div1/2 games, but remember that it is an entirely different climate since play is much faster. You may find some good ideas or form new formations all on your own. Play with something that you like.  |

It is more important how to perform advanced tactics rather than a specific formation. It doesn't matter too much 3-4-3 , 4-4-2 , 4-3-2 etc. |

Any formation but using bus defense (3-4 DFs, DFM and LIM-RIM for example), glitched LM-RM and a very good CF with "running with the ball" skills, and maybe an OM. Edited by SuTaGar 23-08-2013 04:12 |
