How can you get your wings to pass the ball in to the center. My tend to dribble the ball all the way up then shoot. I would like to see more passing. |

i'm still new to SM...but as far as i know, when setting the advance formation you need to assign ball to whoever your desired player (CF/LF/RF) 3 boxes near the opponent's goal...so the winger will know that they are not suppose to shoot within those area...(i.e. they will pass the ball to the assigned player) but for me personally i would prefer the wingers to shoot if they have the opportunity to...this is because most of time they tend to fail when crossing the ball to CF...(blocked, intercept or steal by defenders) i have seen some cases where a winger already in front of goal but still passes the ball to some other players...which had wasted goal scoring opportunity if the CF is weak in receiving ball or if opponent has stronger CDF... but again that is just my opinion...and i'm still learning in this game... |

Go wing play and always have your forward as a focal point in your attack. Never let your wingers get ahead or else they would take the shot. | 29/08/2013 21:13 |

Just a thought but would it help to have your tactics set to more long passes than short as well as the other suggestions? | 30/08/2013 00:14 |

That's very true @reb, but looking at the OP whose in Div6, it would be really hard for him to find a winger with stats superior to a striker. He's also asking for tips on having his wingers crossing the ball to the center which would imply having a focal striker who be on the receiving ends of the passes. | 30/08/2013 05:29 |

Yea. I get that. But i've always used LW/CF/RW, since the beginning. In fact, my personnel configuration hasn't changed since i started the game (before the sim change) I ran this formation for the longest time CF + one wing. RIM IM LIM DFM DFM LDF CDF RDF Then I once got an OM (after losing a cup match to an OM/LF/RF), but that was a total failure. Now I play 2 wings & 1 DFM in a similar formation. I have rebuilt the advanced formations from the ground up, a few times, though ![]() |
