Nowadays the Hands of "Things" have Changed. As stated Demarcation - Defense - Positions: Cdf,Ldf,Rdf,Rb,Lb. In the defense postions now, cdf's tend to be more assets while Every other position in the Defensive line are just for "complete the squad" sake.while L and R Df's just walk near the goal post. True / False |

False in my opinion. I work with a three man defense of LDF - CDF - RDF with a double pivot of two DFMs just ahead of them and they're all equally important. The DFMs are the first line of defense against attacks. If they miss them, then I can rely on my CDF to clean up the messes. LDF/RDF also help out in providing cover in width and phasing wing attacks out to the side line. Another factor which makes them good is that they're the ones who majority of the time take free kicks. You need them to be fast after they take the free kick to get back into position. All positions have their merit and depending on the style of each division and the league, there may be different positions that are valued. ie. LW/RW are much better in the higher divisions because they are better train compared to lower levels so you'll see more of them there. You can also make LB/RBs play like LDF/RDF, but you'd be fitting square pegs into round holes. CDFs are more expensive because their starting position covers the middle and they usually have superior stats compared to the other defensive positions. Play with what works for your formation. |

lol i have the same tactic ldf cdf rdf + 2 dfms - won me div3 gr13 last season however in div 3 it left me in dire starights :S - my squad was weak anyway but this tactic sucked for div2 here is why... i was short up front massivly with my bottom heavy tactic - 5 of the out field were not there for attack + had 2 hovvering outside box i needed an amazing striker 90+ to work this tactic as he could have burst through with dribble also my subs bench was poor - i needed 3 impact subs so next time i will be prepared - have ditched my defense training regime for attack now i will play 2 up front + om and only 3 defenders and no dfms - just hope i drop into easy div3 group :s oh and i do agree with the initial thought of this thread b4 we hyjacked - cdf's are superior to ldf / rdf - they pass and dribble - passing defenders i found out are riff in div2 where as mine happily pass the ball to 90+ cfs  |
