There is a basketball player named Ruben Boumtje Boumtje. He is from Cameroon. Doesn't explain why it ended up as a first name from Venezuela, but thats where it likely came from. I've noticed a lot of names come from other sports ...for example most of the Canadian players in SM have names very similar to NHL hockey players. |
