I'm having a miserable season.

I've got a lot of players this season with low leadership (when choosing captain my players are typically between 0 and 7). Last season my leadership was reasonably quite high.

Does anyone know if my low leadership will be affecting my results?

Leadership supposedly increases the rating of player for completed games which in turn earns more xp. The amount of leadership stat required to earn appropriate xp is of course different for every player and every position. Also, there is such a thing as too much leadership in that after a certain amount, it doesn't help. The actual numbers, explanations, and proof is shrouded in mystery and the developers have not and will not ever shed light on this topic.
I hope this answers your question.
