He gains meNtal points through training. MeNtal points are related to certain skills that are trained with a specific training. I am not sure what skills are those exactly, maybe Aggressiveness and leadership affect Mental points.

I doubt anyone can answer this for you. I have yet to hear anyone explain exactly how the various points add up. I'm not sure it's very useful.
