I'll try to answer the OP in a different way. A financial advisor is not the same as an accountant. Simply put, a better accountant would be better at recording your current income and suggesting ways to avoid tax. A better financial advisor will better help you grow your investment. It absolutely makes sense to question what value you get for your extra % financial advisor. A better financial advisor will give you better investment opportunities e.g. loan facilities, billboard or TV revenue etc. as has already been covered. I believe what you're suggesting is a situation where some user's accounts were more accurate than others or where some pay more taxes than others.
