Welcome to the shooters tutorial for mobile site users! This tutorial will show you the principles you need to know to to maximise your team’s performance on the pitch by selecting match-day roles for your players, as well as choosing formations and tactics already set up using the mobile version of the site. Screenshots are provided at the end. To instead assign roles on the full version of the site, click here: FULL SITE Now head over to the shooters page: (SCREENSHOT 0.1) http://en.strikermanager.com/tactica.php You will see something that looks like this (SCREENSHOT 0.2). The shooters page functions a little like a homepage for making quick pre-match changes. This is really useful! As you will see, not only can you assign roles to your players, but you can also quickly set up the formation and tactics to be used at kick-off. Let’s first assign player roles (Striker Manager calls these “Shooters”). (SCREENSHOT 0.3) FOULS This assigns your free kick takers in attacking positions only. Free kicks awarded to your team in deeper areas will be taken by more appropriate players. Click the arrow belonging to the FOULS box. (SCREENSHOT 1.1) You will see a menu drop down with a list of your outfield players. (SCREENSHOT 1.2) The information is presented as: Player shirt number > player name > player position > free kick ability Choose your free kick taker based on the highest free kick ability. (SCREENSHOT 2) You will notice the player’s free kick ability is the same as the player’s “shot” stat. PENALTIES This obviously assigns who will take penalty kicks awarded to your team. Click the arrow belonging to the PENALTIES box. (SCREENSHOT 3.1) You will see a menu drop down with a list of your outfield players. (SCREENSHOT 3.2) The information is presented as: Player shirt number > player name > player position > penalty kick ability Choose your penalty kick taker based on the highest penalty kick ability. (SCREENSHOT 4) You will notice the player’s penalty kick ability is the same as the player’s “shot” stat. CORNER This obviously assigns who will take corner kicks awarded to your team. It is not believed to matter if the player is left- or right-footed, or if the corner is from the left or right. Click the arrow belonging to the CORNER box. (SCREENSHOT 5.1) You will see a menu drop down with a list of your outfield players. (SCREENSHOT 5.2) The information is presented as: Player shirt number > player name > player position > corner kick ability Choose your corner kick taker based on the highest corner kick ability. (SCREENSHOT 6) You will notice the player’s corner kick ability is the same as the player’s “pass” stat. CAPTAIN This assigns your team’s captain for the next match. The impact of the captain on match performance is unknown. However, it is assumed you must choose the best captain you can for each game! Click the arrow belonging to the CAPTAIN box. (SCREENSHOT 7.1) You will see a menu drop down with a list of your outfield players. Your goalkeeper cannot be captain! (SCREENSHOT 7.2) The information is presented as: Player shirt number > player name > player position > captain ability Choose your captain based on the highest captain ability. (SCREENSHOT 8) You will notice the player’s captain ability is more or less double the player’s “experience” stat. In this situation, you can see I have several players equally capable of leading the team, so I may choose to make my choice based on who I will not be removing as a substitute in my next game. When you have assigned all the roles, click SEND (SCREENSHOT 9) Underneath the “SHOOTERS” section you can see a section named TACTIC (SCREENSHOT 10.1). In the first box, named “FORMATIONS AVAILABLE”, you can see the list of formations available to your team (SCREENSHOT 10.2). Here you can quickly choose which formation you want your team to use at the kickoff of your next game. You can see which formation your team will currently use as this is labelled “Active” (SCREENSHOT 10.3). Click the “Activate” button if you wish to change your desired kickoff formation (SCREENSHOT 10.4). In the box at the bottom of the screen, named “TACTICS REGISTERED” you can see your saved tactics (SCREENSHOT 11.1). Here you can quickly choose which tactics you want your team to use at the kickoff of your next game. You can see which tactic your team will currently use as this is labelled “Active” (SCREENSHOT 11.2). Click the “Activate” button if you wish to change your desired kickoff tactic (SCREENSHOT 11.3). Congratulations! You have now set up your match-day roles, and assigned a kickoff formation and kickoff tactic! Click here to go back to the formation and tactics tutorial landing page.
