Putting this idea out there, and borrowing a concept from FUT

1) Enable a position change feature whereby managers can change the position of a player by one position either side within their lines (D/M/F). "Between-the-lines" midfielders would get a special "vertical" ability here, becoming even more flexible.

GK: cannot be changed
LB: can be changed to LDF
LDF: can be changed to LB or CDF
CDF: can be changed to LDF or RDF
RDF: can be changed to CDF or RB
RB: can be changed to RDF
DFM: can be changed to CDF or IM
LM: can be changed to LIM
LIM: can be changed to LM or IM
IM: can be changed to LIM or RIM
RIM: can be changed to IM or RM
RM: can be changed to RIM
OM: can be changed to IM or CF
LW: can be changed to LF
LF: can be changed to LW or CF
CF: can be changed to LF or RF
RF: can be changed to CF or RW
RW: can be changed to RF

Conditions
- Goalkeepers are excluded (so no sweeper keepers).
- You can only change one level from the player's "native" position, so you cannot change IM>OM>CF>RF, for example, but you could take a CDF and make them follow this route: CDF>LDF>CDF>RDF>CDF.
- You can change the player's position as many times as you like during his career
- Each change is visible to all users and takes 72 hours to complete to give fair warning to upcoming opponents.
- Each change costs, for example, 200GB.
- The player would train as if in position.
- The player's attributes will remain the same (so less suited to the non-native position than an equally attributed/skilled native). E.g. your CF will be able to play as a RF, but he will likely be slower than RFs normally are. Your DFM will likely not be so creative playing in the IM position.
- Normal lineup rules on maximum number of certain defenders, midfielders and attackers, and no more than two of each position would still apply.
- This feature would not be available for temporary promoted juniors.
- Players playing in a non-native position cannot be loaned out to other teams until back in their native position.
- You cannot change the position of loaned in players.

Reasons for implementing
- Generate revenue in the game
- Better training results
- Potentially better performances for teams with slightly lower squad depth when playing better opposition
- May reignite interest in training certain positions knowing they can be changed later
- Mirrors real football in that players can be given new positions. No CDF/CFs, though.

2) same as above, but on a temporary basis. E.g. 25GB for 72 hours.

Thoughts?

Golden Ball
Brilliant idea!

What's the duration of time for each change?

1.
Like the idea.

It will kill off few positions like CF,IM,LW/RW but if lower avg teams can be more competitive then its ok.

Now you can train CF to 98avg 27yo if you are lucky but with LF/RF 98avg at 23yo swap to CF is given, same with DFM 98avg swap to IM.

Maybe they can just up training by 10-20%,training % that is now we voted for 10years ago.

He said each change is visible to all users and takes 72 hours to complete to give fair warning to upcoming opponents.
If that is what you are asking.

I love it, but I would also like it to be able to loan out a player in a non-native position.

Since everyone subscribed to this brilliant idea when is the devs going to accept this?
