Good question. Hordes and hordes of one-day players, and instead they're still making more and more groups... 30/05/2011 18:08

I can't explain that because I'm not an admin... but I agree with the promotion of managers who lead the divisions instead of setting new players in high divisions, but the system sometimes may put a new player there. 30/05/2011 20:51

Seriously.

~120 groups have 3 games or less. that means 2400 teams have been created in the last week.

According to the stats, there are ~8500 active managers for 21,000 teams.

So there's been a 10% increase in the number of teams in the last 7 days, while 12,000+ teams have inactive managers.

That led me to look at a pathetic group. Mine.

7 teams haven't logged in within 97 days. that means they were hadn't logged in for 30 days *Before this season started*
- worse. of those 7, 5 were active for 1 minute.

6 more teams haven't logged in from 60-90 days.
- 4 of those were on less than 15 minutes

3 teams are more than 30 days inactive (one logged only 1 minute, 1 less than a day)
4 teams active. (one has logged only 1 minute)

So 13 of my teams are *definitely* inactive. and 7 of them probably shouldn't have been brought into the season.

This led me to pick a fairly random division 5 team.... Group 10 (round figure, one of the top groups)
6 teams were inactive more than 30 days before this season started.
- 3 of those 6 were active 1 minute.
6 more have been inactive more than 60 days.
- 4 of these teams were active 1 minute, another less than a day.
1 other has been inactive for 35 days.
- this team logged in for 5 minutes.

13 of these teams are "inactive" also. 6 shouldn't be here in the first place.

7 teams competing for 5 promotion spots. 5 ghosted teams guaranteed to populate division 5 next season.

There was a post about ghosted teams a few weeks ago, saying that by the time "All team in my league are " ghost " as the word you describing . I'm guarantee that in 3rd division it'll will be a real Competition" (@Uruguay)

There needs to be a more proactive stance with regard to this. Cull the inactive teams between seasons. Get the ghosted team percentage down from 80. At a minimum, stop creating new teams, it only inflates the statistics and hurts the game.

yup, with this many inactive teams all over the place things are getting rather boring.. for example my league, there is only me and 2 other players out of 20 teams who are active, all the matches us 3 play against the rest of teams end up with 4/5/6/7/8:0. We only play eachother once every few weeks, so yeah.. the rest is boring. I really really hope i get some active group in 5th division next season.. else i don't see a point anymore. All teams with managers inactive for 30+ days should be given newly registered managers tbh, there's no point making new groups and teams hwile current groups are so inactive. 31/05/2011 12:43

*bump*

Ok, can someone please respond.

You are spawning new teams at a consistent rate of about 150/day. 17 new groups since the last league games as of now = 340 teams in under 48 hours... Right on pace for last week.

So in 3.5 days, the number of inactive teams has increased from 12000+ to about 13,500. (22,200 total teams - 8766 active mgrs)

In 3.5 days you have increased the number of teams by about 1200, and increased the number of active managers by 200.

There are 30 weeks left in the year. Are you really planning no having (2400*30) 72,000 MORE TEAMS this year?

With an expected increase of (200*30) 6000 active managers? Even accounting for an increased rate of retention, there must be some other way of dealing with this.

I'd say it's not a trend, but only 290 of 854 groups have played all league games since March 2. that's 564 groups (10,000 teams) in 3 months means that you have significantly increased the rate of team spawning....*After your promotions ended*

Effectively you are printing money and manufacturing players...which will dilute the value of both. And those seem to be the lifeblood of this game at this point.

All of this is on top of giving new player division 5 teams.

Please correct me if I have the wrong impression?
