Reset and apply updates

Well this is a game i love playing so it doesn't really matter if i have to start all over again. I would love to see everyone start the race from same point.

I originally voted with "no reset but apply updates" but then I was contemplating on the grounds of what parallel servers would mean.

Would it mean that this current server does not reset, but the other server would start all over, correct? If that is so, then I can see a lot of managers here stick around for a long time as they wouldn't lose all their effort and time, but I can also see that parallel server being more popular after its annex. I liked the suggestion from what others have said of a parallel server that is like the universal server that connects all the current ones where everyone starts from the bottom. It would only give the game more versatility especially if the rumored Apple App for this game comes out. How awesome would that be? There would be an incredible flow of new managers since it will be more marketed.

There's also this fear I have that if a parallel server is created, then this one would eventually die off as which server would one rather play on: this one where it would take years of playing to even come close to the top or the newer one whose gap is only marginal?

I can see the argument of no reset to this server as it would be a big "screw you" to the managers who've spent numerous seasons building their teams from the ground, but I also see the conundrum for newer managers who face the daunting task of building a team in this rich/poor environment. Anyways, the only grounds I can see everyone being satisfied is to have two servers: This current one with no reset and a new one where everyone gets a new fresh start with both being updated of course.

Just my take on things. Cheers.

As grantis said, a new server would be very fun and competitive. But if the server(s) get reset, I'm outta here. 21/06/2013 23:25

Applying the new updates here would be better cause then we wont have to start all over from the beginning 21/06/2013 23:54

sorry to bring doom and gloom but as i see it if this game gets the go ahead to be official apple app then u play must in all logic and any business sense reset this game

i dont want to lose my advantage either but being an apple app will open game up to 10x the managers we have now so why alienate your potential new customers only allowing them to join a game after been live for 2 yrs

i advocate a reset + keep the old servers running (they will die slow death) and we can join up new apple servers too

I have been thinking about this all day and one thing is really getting to me. It seems the only reason to reset the servers is to level the playing field so new managers don't have to start in the 6th division and work up to a higher league. Seriously? You have to be kidding! For me, half the fun of this game is pushing yourself and trying to improve your position.

Having everyone reset and starting at the same level isn't doing any favours at all to new managers (although it is seriously screwing long term managers). As it stands right now a new manager can basically get himself a 40 avg team for a couple of million. These would be a mix of young for the future and old players who can do the job now. This allows them to have an immediate edge against system bot teams in Div 6 - easy promotion to div 5 and the money that comes with it. If everyone starts with a 30 or 35 avg team then these 40 avg players are going to be going for a couple of million each and nobody can afford to upgrade their team. But, doesn't this mean that everyone has an even chance to win? No. Not even close.

If everyone has the same quality team then the difference maker will be the tactics. But who has the best tactics right from the start? Those who have put in a couple of years already. Within a year we are going to have nobody but old timers in the top divisions (those who stuck around, anyway). Within two years we are back in the same situation as we are now. A minority of very powerful teams and everyone else trying to catch up.

On a side note, I am looking forward to the time when the FA tells the big teams in England that they are too good and the smaller teams like Accrington Stanley and Everton don't have a chance of winning the league. All players in England go into a lottery and we will rebuild all the teams from scratch. Oh yeah, and we knock down everyone's stadiums and start them over as well. Oh, don't forget that you only have 2 million pounds to play with and no otside investment is allowed. Let the games begin.

I understand what you are saying, but apple users are allowed to use this game already. Some may be 2 years behind but not all would be. I don't think we can use that line of reasoning as our major argument.

PS, can you tell that I own no Apple products?

gr8 points bbs

also consider people spent alot of gbs on training staff upto 99%

wish i could share with u all a case study i was involved in a few yrs back - Football Manager Live - this game is following exactly the course laid out as a proven failure, fml reset and allowed old managers to keep staff skills, they then made so many new updates the game was bugged alot + they tried to artificially control the economy

its almost funny for me watching u play do exactly what sega did with fml but its not as i already lost access to the best manager game online ever and now striker manager is the 2nd best and i am worried

It is GBs that gets me really going. Both my coaches are now 99%. Both started at 88% or 89% (lucky finds and only cost about 50M of in game cash playin roulette). But I paid real cash for the GBs. For what? If the server is reset and I am not reimbursed for my GBs I am done. If it is reset and I am reimbursed I am 50:50 on whether I hang around or not. 22/06/2013 00:58
